During a meeting with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Khojamyrat Geldimyradov, Mohammadreza Aref added that the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has stressed the need to strengthen ties with neighboring Turkmenistan.
The negotiations focused on advancing previously reached agreements, highlighting the agenda for deepening trade and economic ties with a focus on the private sector.
The two sides underscored the importance of cooperation in energy, transport, transit, and tourism, taking into account the cultural and civilizational ties between the two countries.
The role of the Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Economic Cooperation Council was highlighted as a key mechanism for boosting trade and economic relations.
The 3rd Caspian Economic Forum opened in Tehran, with the participation of prime ministers and ministers from Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.
