Issue of strengthening Tajik-Afghan border discussed in New York

The Foreign Ministers of CSTO member countries held a separate meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, according to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, which is currently chairing the CSTO, reports Sputnik.

"The CSTO Foreign Ministers 'synchronized their positions' on pressing issues of cooperation... The ministers exchanged views on key issues of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly and discussed priority areas of cooperation between the UN and CSTO," stated the Kazakh Foreign Ministry on its Telegram channel.

It was noted that Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, informed his colleagues about his country’s position regarding the CSTO's activities under Astana's current chairmanship. He also shared his vision for the future development of the regional structure.

The sides exchanged views on the planned signing of the CSTO's Target Interstate Program for strengthening the Tajik-Afghan border at the upcoming summit.
