IV 'Central Asia – China' Forum took place in Uzbekistan

A major forum dedicated to the prospects of cooperation between Central Asia and China took place in Tashkent, the UzA agency reports.

The organizers of the IV 'Central Asia – China' Forum were the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISRS) and the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. This forum is being held outside of China for the first time, according to the report.

The Director of ISRS, Eldor Aripov, highlighted the development of cooperation between China and Central Asia. According to him, the first summit of Central Asian heads of state held in China last year is a vivid confirmation of the sustainable growth of relations.

The Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhao Zhimin, highly praised the organization of the forum. Ambassadors of Central Asian countries to Uzbekistan also spoke at the event.

As part of the forum, a discussion was held on the topic "Central Asia and China at the present stage of development: cooperation aimed at a common future."

"Experts noted that China is becoming one of the main destinations for products from the region, and the diversity of competitive goods, agricultural and food products supplied to the vast consumer market of China is steadily increasing," the report said.

The forum also included sessions on the topics "The economy of the future: digital, innovative, and green transformation," "Development of transport and logistics links and industrial cooperation – an important factor in achieving common economic prosperity.
