During the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Astana, a "Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan" business forum was held, where participants set the goal of increasing mutual trade turnover to $10 billion, reports Eurasiatoday.ru.

At the forum, the Kazakh side expressed readiness to continue cooperation in increasing the volumes of mutual supplies of electrical engineering products and batteries.

Trade with Uzbekistan accounts for over 57% of Kazakhstan's total trade with Central Asian countries, said Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin.

Over the past five years, bilateral trade has grown by 29%, reaching $5 billion in 2022.

In turn, Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev called for joint efforts to effectively attract major global brands to the region.

"The global community views our region as a single market. I urge us to combine our efforts to effectively attract major global brands," Khodjaev stated at the forum.

Already, 12 joint projects worth a total of $217 million have been implemented. Currently, three investment projects worth over $178 million are in active phases.
