Kazakhstan has launched a large-scale digitalization and artificial intelligence program as part of the Year of Digitalization and AI, 2026. The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan is implementing an Action Plan comprising eight strategic areas and 100 initiatives, Kazpravda.kz reported.
The program is based on the "Digital Qazaqstan" strategy through 2029, which includes the development of GovTech 3.0, the modernization of telecommunications infrastructure, support for the IT sector, and the implementation of AI in industry, energy, logistics, and public administration. The government expects digital transformation to contribute approximately 1.5 percentage points to GDP annually by 2029.
