Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) have agreed to develop a new joint action plan to deepen practical cooperation in the medium term, Daryo.uz reported.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and EEC Board Chairman Bakytzhan Sagintayev in Tashkent. The parties discussed increasing mutual trade volumes, eliminating barriers to foreign trade, simplifying customs procedures, and developing cooperation between enterprises.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects in industrial cooperation, transport, logistics, and the digitalization of trade processes. The need to intensify dialogue on the integration of national information systems and ensuring unimpeded transit of goods was emphasized.

For Uzbekistan and all of Central Asia, expanding interaction with the EAEU as an observer state is a crucial factor in supporting export and import potential. Coordinating trade terms and logistics corridors will facilitate increased trade between Tashkent and the countries of the association, as well as the creation of new production chains.

For the regional market, this initiative means further simplification of cross-border barriers and accelerated formation of a unified transport connectivity space. This will enhance Central Asia's transit capabilities along key Eurasian trade routes.
