Kyrgyzstan and Japan strengthen partnership in various areas

Prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas such as investment, education, information technology, and cultural-humanitarian interaction were discussed in Tokyo by Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Labor, Ravshanbek Sabirov, with Japan’s Minister of Defense and members of parliament, reports 24.kg.

Sabirov was in Japan heading an official delegation from Kyrgyzstan. During the talks, it was emphasized that sustainable development is only possible through broad partnerships, mutual exchange of knowledge, and technological cooperation.

Particular attention was given to the development of the energy sector. The Kyrgyz side informed their Japanese counterparts about plans for the construction and modernization of hydroelectric power plants, identifying hydropower as one of the priority areas for sustainable growth. In response, the Japanese side expressed interest in participating in these projects, including providing investment and technological support.

During the meeting, specific aspects of cooperation in the fields of labor migration and social protection were also discussed. Representatives from Kyrgyzstan spoke about a systematic approach to ensuring the rights and safety of workers abroad. Japanese partners praised Kyrgyzstan’s efforts in this area and confirmed their interest in further developing the partnership.

At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening strategic dialogue, building sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation, and advancing joint initiatives for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
