Negotiations took place in Bishkek between the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, and the Chairman of the Great State Hural of Mongolia, Gombojav Zandanshatar, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit leading a large delegation.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, transportation, mining, industry, tourism, ecology, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Japarov emphasized the potential for increasing mutual trade turnover, particularly in supplying environmentally friendly agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan to Mongolia.
Discussing collaboration in the light industry, Japarov underscored that Kyrgyzstan is ready to leverage Mongolia's experience in the sector to promote domestic products not only to neighboring states but also to foreign markets.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the tourism sector. In this context, an agreement was reached to intensify collaboration with Mongolia in tourism, including organizing joint events and implementing joint investment projects.
In turn, Zandanshatar voiced Mongolia's support for Kyrgyzstan's accession to the multilateral agreement on international transport through the Asian road network. He emphasized that this would be a positive development in the fields of transport, logistics, and trade cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
Following the meeting, five memorandums were signed:
- Memorandum of Understanding between the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan and the Bank of Mongolia.
- Memorandum of Understanding between the NBKR and the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia.

The intensification of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia began in the middle of the previous year when Ulan Bator was officially visited by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov. The Kyrgyz Embassy was opened in the Mongolian capital, and discussions included the resumption of air communication and other areas of cooperation. In October 2023, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia signed a memorandum on investment cooperation.
