In Tajikistan, 740 new production enterprises and workshops were commissioned in 2024, including 528 new industrial enterprises, creating around 20,000 new jobs. These figures were announced by Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda on January 17 during a government meeting, reports Pressa.tj.
According to the Prime Minister, in 2024, the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 154.3 billion somoni (over $14 billion), which is 22.6 billion somoni more than in 2023. Inflation remained at a low level of 3.6%, which is 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous year.
In 2024, the total revenue plan of the state budget was fulfilled. Budget revenues amounted to 46.9 billion somoni, which is 1.8 billion somoni more than the projected figure.
As part of 18 state investment projects for the construction and reconstruction of power plants, reduction of electricity losses, implementation of a billing system, electrification of rural areas, construction of power transmission and distribution lines, and financial recovery of the sector, work was carried out for a total of $1.7 billion.
In 2024, agricultural production amounted to 74 billion somoni, with a growth rate of 10.6%, including 13.4% in crop production and 4.9% in livestock farming.
In 2024, Tajikistan attracted $4.9 billion in foreign investments, which is $2.1 billion or 73% more than in 2023. Trade turnover increased by 13.6%, reaching 65.8 billion somoni (approximately $6 billion).
