Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Kyrgyzstan, delivered praised the great success and significant positive impact of the UAE’s Government Accelerators program, thanks to which his country was able to identify and resolve 3 problematic tasks of a social nature, within 100 days only. Emirates WAM news agency reports.

Delivering a main address on day 2 of the World Governments Summit, Zhaparov applauded the valuable outcomes of the event since its launch over a decade ago, highlighting its role as an active platform of global dialogue on pressing issues, and a window for knowledge sharing that helps boost government performance and people’s quality of life.

President Zhaparov said Kyrgyzstan has identified 4 main priorities in its efforts to achieve sustainable development, the first of which focuses on upgrading the entirety of the executive authority structure. He stated that they are moving towards a government that serves people’s interests and creates favourable conditions for their spiritual, intellectual, economic and social growth.

“The second priority deals with our relentless battle against corruption – one of the main reasons for turmoil in Kyrgyzstan,” Zhaparov said. “To this end, the Cabinet is working hard to bring the national economy out of its shell as part of a plan to introduce new tools of tax management.”

The third and fourth priorities address the introduction of a new economic policy, and the digitisation of the entire public services system in Kyrgyzstan, respectively.

With its national economy steadily growing, recording an average growth of 7 percent over the past 3 years, Zhaparov said the country continues to focus on major infrastructure and energy projects in collaboration with foreign investors. As for digitisation efforts, he said a major step has been the recent testing of an AI model in Kyrgyz that was trained to accommodate the country’s culture and traditions.

Zhaparov concluded his main address by briefly highlighting major initiatives aimed at transforming Kyrgyzstan into a regional haven for business and improving its global ranking to be among the top 30 countries in terms of achieving sustainable development goals by 2030.
