In 2021, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, when the regime of Ashraf Ghani was still in power in the country, amounted to $630 million. However, for the seven months of 2022, this figure amounted to $530 million. This was told by the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev told the Alter Ego project, Nova24.uz reports.

He spoke about comparative data before and after the change of power in Afghanistan on trade relations between the two countries.

At the same time, indicators of road and rail transport increased.

What is good is that the current authorities enable Afghan entrepreneurs to sell their products and export them,” Ismatulla Irgashev said.

The Special Representative noted that transit traffic in Afghanistan increased by more than 50%.

Earlier it was reported that the first train went along the transit route from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan.
