Special representatives of Iran and Turkmenistan for Caspian Sea affairs held consultations on defining the maritime boundary line, delineating fishing zones, establishing the baseline, and dividing the seabed of the Caspian Sea, Orient.tm reports.
Negotiations between the delegations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan, chaired by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Caspian Affairs, Alireza Jahangiri, and Turkmenistan’s Special Representative for Caspian Affairs, Murad Atajanov, took place in Ashgabat.
During this meeting, discussions and consultations were held on determining the maritime boundary line, delineating fishing zones, establishing the baseline, and dividing the seabed and subsoil of the Caspian Sea, along with related documents, Mehr news agency reported on Tuesday.
Other issues, including environmental concerns and the declining water level of the Caspian Sea, were also discussed during the meeting.
