Tajikistan and China discussed implementation of Central Asia-China gas pipeline

DUSHANBE - Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, met with Song Hongkun, Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration of China. The talks took place on June 19 in Bishkek on the sidelines of the 6th Meeting of Energy Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Avesta.tj reports.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. Particular attention was paid to developing cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

Meeting participants also discussed opportunities to expand the exchange of experience and strengthen professional contacts between specialists from the two countries. The parties believe this will facilitate the implementation of modern technologies and improve the efficiency of the energy sector.

A separate topic of discussion was the implementation of the Central Asia-China transit gas pipeline project (Line D), considered one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region. The parties exchanged views on the project's further advancement and its significance for regional energy cooperation.

The meeting was part of the ongoing dialogue between Tajikistan and China aimed at developing the energy sector and expanding mutually beneficial partnerships.
