Chairman of the Sogdian region of Tajikistan, Rajabboi Ahmadzoda, and the representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in the Batken region, Abdikarim Alimbaev, have agreed to avoid making sharp statements about the border issue. They have also urged citizens not to trust unverified information on the internet, TASS reports.

The meeting was attended by the heads of law enforcement agencies of the Sogdian and Batken regions, as well as the mayors of border cities and districts of the two countries.

Both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring the implementation of the decisions made to protect the safety of people, maintain peace, and stability on the state border. To prevent misunderstandings among citizens and ensure public safety, regional leaders gave specific instructions and assignments to the mayors of border cities and districts, as well as to the heads of law enforcement agencies for joint activities.

During the discussion, the heads of the Sogdian and Batken regions once again stressed the importance of preserving peace and stability in the border regions of the two countries.

"In recent days, materials related to the Tajik-Kyrgyz border published in the media have sparked debates on social networks. In this regard, the need for both sides to refrain from incorrectly assessing issues related to the Tajik-Kyrgyz border was noted," the statement said.

According to the chairman's press service, both sides emphasized that "residents should not trust unverified unofficial information that may be a provocation by interested parties" and called for trust in only official statements from government authorities. Ahmadzoda and Alimbaev also emphasized that emerging issues should be resolved through peaceful negotiations.

"It is important for citizens to continue to focus their attention on reliable and official websites of government institutions and official social networks of both countries," the source noted.

Regional leaders also added that the main role in strengthening good neighborly relations between our countries will be played by the residents of the two neighboring countries, who are linked by centuries-old friendly, family, and spiritual ties.

"These fundamental factors, based on the eternal wisdom of our peoples, should play a decisive role in meetings and negotiations. All issues will be resolved only through peaceful negotiations and diplomatic means," the sides emphasized.
