Tajikistan and Pakistan discuss economic ties within CASA-1000 project

The event dedicated to the development of economic ties between Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan within the framework of the CASA-1000 project took place in Dushanbe at the Institute for the Study of Asian and European Countries of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Avesta reports.

During the meeting of experts from both countries, the importance of the CASA-1000 project, initiated by the countries of Central and South Asia to ensure sustainable energy supply and the development of "green" energy in the region, was discussed.

The project aims to transmit electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Pakistan, strengthening economic and energy ties between the countries.

It was especially noted that Tajikistan is a leading country in Eurasia in the production of "green" energy, which plays a key role in the sustainable development of the region.

A report was presented at the event on the current state and prospects for the development of economic relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan, and issues of strengthening cooperation during the construction of the CASA-1000 project were discussed.
