In 2024, Tajikistan witnessed a substantial increase in primary aluminum production, reaching 82.2 thousand tons, which is 23.3% more than in 2023. This was reported by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, according to Avesta.tj.
According to ministry data, aluminum production in 2023 amounted to 66.6 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the value of the produced aluminum increased by 230.2 million somoni (over $21 million), reaching 716.4 million somoni ($65 million).
Aluminum exports also showed significant growth. In 2024, 71 thousand tons were shipped to foreign markets, marking a 37% increase compared to 2023.
The main buyers of Tajik aluminum were Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and European countries.
Domestic aluminum processing in Tajikistan also demonstrated positive dynamics. In 2024, 18.9 thousand tons of aluminum were processed at local enterprises, 22.5% more than the previous year.
The main processing companies included:
- LLC Titan-8888 – 1.7 thousand tons,
- LLC KM TT "Taiprof" – 1.2 thousand tons,
- OJSC TALCO – 626 tons,
- LLC Aluminum Prof – 115 tons.
According to forecasts from the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, aluminum production in 2025 could increase to 108 thousand tons. This growth is expected to be driven by equipment modernization, capacity expansion, and rising global demand.
