In the first half of 2026, 42 marriages between Tajikistan citizens and foreigners and stateless persons were registered, according to Justice Minister Muzaffar Ashuriyon. This is 16 fewer marriages than in the same period in 2025, when 58 such marriages were registered, Asiaplus.tj reports.
In the first six months, 3,526 divorces were also registered—591 fewer than last year. Following the divorces, 3,111 minor children remained in single-parent families. A total of 27,563 marriages were registered in the country, which is lower than last year.

The decline in marriages with foreigners reflects the overall decline in registered marriages in Tajikistan, which is considered one of the traditionally conservative countries in the region.
