Imports of passenger cars to Tajikistan in the first half of 2024 decreased by 22 thousand units, or 58% compared to the same period last year. This was reported at a press conference of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
A decrease in imports of vegetable oil by 3,069 tons (6.6%) and liquefied gas by 12,282 tons (5.9%) was noted. At the same time, during this period, imports of petroleum products increased by 73,337 tons (16.2%), wheat by 42,834 tons (10.2%), flour by 17,305 tons (81.7%), mineral fertilizers by 53,975 tons (5.8%) and sugar by 33,042 tons (46.2%).
Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia in the first half of 2024 increased by 14.1% compared to the same period in 2023 and reached $970 million, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reported at a press conference.
At the press conference of the Export Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, it was also noted that the volume of exports of domestic products in the first six months of 2024 amounted to almost $1 billion, which is $319.2 million more than in the same period last year.
According to the Statistics Agency under the President of Tajikistan, almost 100% of cargo during this period was transported by land, including road and rail.
