Türkiye approves policy of Uzbekistan

Resident Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the delegation of Turkey in Tashkent, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

The Turkish delegation headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations Fuat Oktay conveyed congratulations to the head of Uzbekistan on the convincing victory in the elections from Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Earlier, the President of Turkey personally congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev by phone.

Turkey highly appreciates and fully supports the pragmatic policy of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the welfare of the population and strengthening the country's international authority, Fuat Oktay said.

During the talks, the parties discussed the creation of an inter-parliamentary cooperation group and the development of an appropriate road map.

Uzbekistan and Türkiye intend to expand relations in the following priority areas:

  • air traffic;
  • turnover;
  • investment projects;
  • cultural and humanitarian projects.

In addition, Uzbekistan and Türkiye will raise military cooperation to a new level. Defense Ministers Bakhodir Kurbanov and Yashar Guler discussed plans for the future.
