Turkmenistan and EU adjusted their courses in New York

Turkmenistan places great importance on strengthening friendly relations and constructive dialogue with the European Union (EU), which expands each year, covering new areas of interaction. This was stated during the meeting between the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov, and the President of the European Union, Charles Michel, in New York, Orient.tm reports.

The President of Turkmenistan is in New York on a working visit to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He, along with other Central Asian heads of state, will also participate in the C5+1 Summit with U.S. President Joe Biden.

During the talks with the EU President, the successful cooperation between Turkmenistan and this international organization was emphasized, both in bilateral formats and within the framework of the "European Union - Central Asia" dialogue.

"The European Union has been a long-standing partner of Turkmenistan in the implementation of a number of specialized projects and programs aimed at addressing priority tasks of our country's economic and social development, including in the fields of legislation, education, information and communication technologies, agriculture, water management, environmental protection, climate change," stated the head of state, as reported by TDH.

Currently, leading European companies are represented in various sectors of the Turkmen economy, including the oil and gas complex, transportation, energy, construction, and communications.

During the discussion, opinions were exchanged on the prospects of cooperation in the context of its key aspects and existing diverse potential.
