At a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan, the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov signed a plan of joint activities between the EEC and the government of Uzbekistan for 2024-2026, according to the official website of the Eurasian Economic Council.

The document envisages strengthening cooperation in such areas as customs and technical regulation, economics, finance, trade policy, competition, antitrust regulation, public procurement, industry, agro-industrial complex, energy, transport, informatization, macroeconomics, as well as sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary measures and consumer protection.

Sagintayev noted that the implementation of this plan will help strengthen trade and economic ties between the EAEU countries and Uzbekistan.
Aripov emphasized the importance of practical interaction with the EEC, especially within the framework of multilateral projects aimed at developing strategic areas of cooperation in the EAEU.

Uzbekistan, which has the status of an observer state in the EAEU, has already completed the first stage of cooperation with the EEC, covering 2021-2023.

It included the implementation of joint activities and expansion of areas of interaction, which led to the emergence of new opportunities for partnership development. Tashkent is actively using its observer status to participate in EAEU programs and integrate into the economic space of the union.
