Uzbekistan interested in making maximum use of status of an observer state of EAEU

At the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Moscow, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation, Botirjon Asadov, Sputnik reports.

The diplomat emphasized that Uzbekistan is interested in maximizing the use of its observer state status and is ready to participate in industry-specific projects implemented within the EAEU.

In turn, B. Sagintayev noted that currently Uzbekistan ranks first among the trading partners of the EAEU from CIS countries that are not members of the Union, and seventh in the overall list of trading partners.

During the meeting, the status and prospects of cooperation between the Union countries and the Republic of Uzbekistan were discussed, as well as the progress in fulfilling agreements to deepen integration ties in various areas.

Currently, the Commission, together with the EAEU countries, is considering the possibility of Uzbekistan joining a number of specific cooperative industrial and infrastructure projects.
