Uzbekistan welcomes Azerbaijan's determination to restore territorial integrity, said Sadyk Safaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan, regarding the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Nova24.uz reports.
Uzbekistan's authorities, like the majority of countries worldwide, have long declared that they do not recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
"We are pleased with Azerbaijan's achievements in all areas, especially in restoring territorial integrity and justice. We support Azerbaijan in its just struggle and welcome the determination of the Azerbaijani government and people to restore and protect territorial integrity despite all difficulties," Safaev stated.
The Deputy Chairman of the Uzbek Senate is confident that Azerbaijan will transform Karabakh into one of the most peaceful corners of the world.
On September 19, Azerbaijan initiated a military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh. Later, the administration of Ilham Aliyev set conditions for ending the military operation. On September 20, a complete ceasefire was declared in Nagorno-Karabakh. The republic's army will be disbanded, and military equipment will be withdrawn from its territory.
