President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, along with other leaders of Central Asian countries, met with members of the Eastern Committee of German Business and representatives of leading German companies, as reported by the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, it was noted that German businesses are interested in expanding cooperation with the Central Asian region. This includes areas such as the expansion and production of green energy, the implementation of large investment projects related to resource extraction, cooperation in agriculture, said the Chairwoman of the Eastern Committee of German Business, Katrin Klaas.

President of Kyrgyzstan emphasized that Central Asia is rich in mineral resources, hydroenergy resources, and has a highly educated and mobile human capital.

"The Kyrgyz Republic welcomes and fully supports the new format of cooperation, 'Central Asia – Germany.' This is a first-of-its-kind mechanism for dialogue and close interaction with a member state and the locomotive of the European Union's economy, Germany. We believe that this format should become an effective and reliable conduit for partnership in all areas and provide an additional impetus to the development of our countries," noted Japarov.

President Japarov invited German entrepreneurs to participate in the reconstruction and construction of new transport and logistics hubs not only in Kyrgyzstan but also in the region as a whole.

"Another promising direction, in my opinion, could be cooperation in the creation of a laboratory for the certification of agricultural products, the introduction of state-of-the-art technologies, as well as the extraction and processing of rare earth elements in the Kyrgyz Republic," added Zhaparov.

He reminded that in 2022, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Germany was celebrated. In 2012, Kyrgyzstan unilaterally introduced a visa-free regime for German citizens. Today, citizens of 61 countries can enter Kyrgyzstan without obtaining a visa.

"We believe that it is time to introduce simplified visa procedures for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. We hope that Germany will contribute to the start of this process. We also need to encourage and support our airlines in opening and expanding regular direct flights between our countries. I urge German business circles to consider Kyrgyzstan as a reliable business partner," concluded Zhaparov.
