New international transport corridor involves Turkmenistan

The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran discussed the signing of an agreement on the organization of an international transport corridor during a video conference, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reports.

Within the framework of the online meeting, the parties discussed expediting the signing of an agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran on the organization of an international transport corridor, the report says.

The press service also mentioned that the parties discussed reducing fees for international road transport through Iran and the possibility of using Iranian ports such as Bandar Abbas and Chabahar for the transportation of export and import cargo.

Additionally, the participants exchanged views on the development of an international transport corridor along the route of Uzbekistan - Afghanistan - Iran.
