President Sadyr Japarov stated that Kyrgyzstan has always upheld and will continue to uphold the principles of international law, based on peaceful coexistence with other countries.

He made this statement during a speech to the diplomatic service staff at a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

In his speech, he emphasized:

"In a short period, Kyrgyzstan has become a full-fledged member of the UN and established diplomatic relations with more than 170 countries. In addition, the country is a member of 124 international organizations. Kyrgyzstan currently has diplomatic missions in more than 100 countries, and over 100 foreign embassies and international organizations are accredited in Bishkek," said President Japarov.

He concluded by noting that Kyrgyzstan faces serious challenges in foreign policy and economic affairs:

A multi-vector foreign policy will remain a constant principle for Kyrgyzstan. In this context, strategic partners and neighboring countries in Central Asia and Eurasia occupy a central place in foreign policy. Particular attention is given to resolving border issues to strengthen good-neighborly relations. Kyrgyzstan will develop relations with Asia, Europe, America, and the Islamic world, as well as maintain diplomatic ties and cooperation with Africa, Latin America, and Oceania.

Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to political dialogue and cooperation within the framework of the UN.

The country is intensifying its efforts in the global fight against climate change and calls for enhanced action on climate and mountain-related initiatives.

One of the key areas of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy should be promoting the country’s transit potential and ensuring its energy security.

Economic diplomacy and attracting investments are among the most important tasks in Kyrgyzstan’s economic relations with foreign countries. Economic institutions created in cooperation with other countries play a vital role in enhancing the country's reputation and attracting foreign direct investments to strategic sectors of the economy.

In recent years, Kyrgyzstan has opened several institutions abroad, and efforts to expand such diplomatic relations will continue.

Special attention must be paid to protecting the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens and legal entities abroad. It is important to maintain close ties with compatriots living abroad and provide them with necessary support.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan celebrates its 80th anniversary on October 22.
