Results of meeting of Central Asian leaders in Astana: several significant documents signed

The VI Consultative Meeting of the leaders of Central Asian states took place in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, under the chairmanship of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan. This event marked another step in strengthening regional ties and cooperation, the press service of the President of Kazakhstan reports.

In his speech, Tokayev emphasized the importance of these consultative meetings, which have elevated the interaction between the countries in the region to a qualitatively new level. He noted that the relationships between Central Asian states have become systematic, comprehensive, and based on mutual trust.

Tokayev highlighted several achievements in regional cooperation, including the resolution of long-standing issues, enhanced measures to ensure regional security, progress in border, water usage, and migration matters, as well as the removal of trade barriers.

Particular attention was given to the modernization of border checkpoints, expansion of transport links, and the opening of new routes. Tokayev also underscored the positive developments in trade, economic, and investment relations among the regional countries.

He also pointed out the deepening of cultural and humanitarian ties, with regular events such as Culture Days, craft exhibitions, national cuisine festivals, and youth forums.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Central Asian leaders signed several important documents:

  • A joint statement on the results of the VI Consultative Meeting.
  • A concept for the development of regional cooperation, "Central Asia-2040."
  • A roadmap for the development of regional cooperation for 2025-2027.
  • A decision to award the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Honorary Badge of the Heads of Central Asian States.

These documents aim to strengthen cooperation between the countries in the region and define strategic directions for their interaction in the coming years.
