Video interrogation of two Tajik youths by the security service has been published in Afghanistan. They are believed to be ISIS militants and allegedly planned to reach a terrorist training camp in Pakistan. The interrogation video was posted on social media by the Afghan publication Al Mirsaad.

On April 9, the publication posted a video interrogation of two young men who, according to their statements, are citizens of Tajikistan and were recruited by ISIS in Russia and sent to Afghanistan.

"On interrogation, both detainees reported that they were recruited into ISIS via Telegram while working in the Vladimir region of Russia," the publication notes.

One of the young men introduces himself in the video as 21-year-old Sirojiddin Davlatov from Vose district, and the other as 21-year-old Sameudzhon Fayzov from Kulob. It is noticeable that the video has been heavily edited.

During the interrogation, they confess that online recruiters gave them clear instructions: to travel to Afghanistan via Turkey and Iran, and from there to go to Quetta, the capital of the Pakistani province of Balochistan, for further training.

The publication reports that after completing their training in Quetta, they were supposed to be sent to Iran to carry out a series of terrorist attacks.

However, "they were arrested by the Taliban on their way to Quetta."

Apparently, the Taliban propagates a fierce struggle against ISIS, but informed sources claim that both groups continue to maintain close cooperation.

It is unknown when the two young men, who appeared in the video, were arrested, but according to Al Mirsaad, they are currently in the hands of the Taliban.

The reaction of the authorities in Dushanbe and the relatives of the two young men is currently unknown.

According to Tajik authorities, since 2014, hundreds of Tajik citizens have joined ISIS ranks in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, a significant portion of whom have been killed in battles in Western Asian countries (the Middle East), while others have gone missing.

In Dushanbe, they are confident that the majority of Tajik citizens are recruited into the ranks of the Islamic State while in Russia.

It has also recently become known that a Tajik citizen was arrested in Rome at the request of Tajik law enforcement agencies for his ties to ISIS.
