In Kazakhstan, campuses of three foreign universities and eight more branches of foreign universities will open, announced Sayaat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, Vlast.kz reports.

On September 16, 2024, a campus of the British Coventry University will open in Astana. In Turkestan city, a campus of the South Korean Woosong University will be launched. Additionally, De Montfort University in Almaty will graduate its first students next year.

"The uniqueness of these three foreign universities is that graduates can receive diplomas from the UK, Korea, and work fully in these countries," said Nurbek.

He also mentioned that about 20 "top foreign universities" have been invited to Kazakhstan, and this year, eight more branches will be opened. One of them is a branch of the "Lu Ban Workshop" of a Chinese university at the East Kazakhstan Technical University in Ust-Kamenogorsk, which will become the region's first center for training technical and engineering personnel for electric vehicles.

Nurbek stated that foreign universities independently conduct student admissions according to their requirements, but this year, the ministry has decided to lower language requirements, allowing first-year students to study on a preparatory course for a year to learn the language, academic writing, and research methods.

Additionally, grants are provided to all students entering these branches.
