Turkmenistan took part in meeting of Foreign Ministers of G7 and Central Asia

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Berdyniyaz Myatiev, participated in an online meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the G7, Orient.tm reports.

The meeting was attended by the heads of foreign affairs departments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Canada, the United States, and France. The event was chaired by Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yoko Kamikawa.

The participants exchanged views on key aspects of the regional and international agenda. Special attention was given to issues related to strengthening cooperation in priority areas such as peace and security, economic development, green transformation, and sustainable energy resource utilization.

In his speech, Turkmenistan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that cooperation between Central Asian countries and the G7 should be based on mutual respect, trust, and understanding, taking into account the peculiarities and needs of each country. It was expressed that the existing potential for cooperation can be effectively used in the context of maintaining regional peace and stability, the successful integration of Central Asia into modern global processes, as noted in the press release from the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Turkmen side drew the attention of meeting participants to a series of initiatives initiated by the President of Turkmenistan during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. These proposals are highly relevant in the context of developing cooperation between Central Asian countries and the G7. In this regard, it was noted that there is significant potential for partnership in security and sustainable development, hydrogen energy, transport and logistics, climate change, the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies, and the development of energy capacities, including the supply of Turkmen natural gas in the European direction.
