Kyrgyzstan is not violating Western sanctions imposed against Russia, stated the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, in an interview with the media corporation Deutsche Welle, Regnum reports.

"I can unequivocally confirm that we have never violated sanctions and will not violate them. We will adhere to the agreements we have with our Western partners," the minister's words were quoted by the publication.

He also noted that no one can prohibit bilateral trade with China, Russia, or other CIS countries.

"As a member of the Kyrgyzstan government, I can officially state that we have never violated sanctions," he clarified.

The diplomat refuted information claiming that Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with Russia and other CIS countries has increased several times recently.

"We do have some growth, but I've never heard of 240%, for example. We have our own statistical data. And we believe that trade with Russia and other CIS countries is proceeding at the level of previous years," Kulubaev added.

Kulubaev highlighted that Kyrgyzstan periodically engages with the United States on the issue of anti-Russian sanctions. He noted that the country's authorities advocate for resolving the situation around Ukraine through negotiations.
