A ceremonial event was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan to mark the completion of an important phase of the "Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP TRIGGER)", Avesta.tj reports.

The project is being implemented with financial support from the European Union and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), as well as technical assistance from GIZ.

The event was chaired by Zavkizoda Zavki Amin, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan. Participants included EU Ambassador to Tajikistan Raimundas Karoblis, Project Director Wulf Gorecki, as well as development partners and other project stakeholders.

In his speech, Zavkizoda emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and its international partners. He noted that, thanks to the wise policies of President Emomali Rahmon, a strong foundation has been established for the successful implementation of such crucial projects.

The minister congratulated all partners and participants on successfully completing another phase of the program. He highlighted that IRDP TRIGGER has played a key role in boosting agricultural productivity, improving market access, expanding entrepreneurial opportunities for youth, strengthening water resource management, and promoting sustainable rural development.

The project covered the Sughd and Khatlon regions, as well as the Zarafshan and Rasht valleys, significantly improving the socio-economic conditions of local communities. The program also supported small-scale producers, fostered public-private sector cooperation, introduced international standards, and enhanced the country’s export potential.

At the event’s conclusion, Minister Amin expressed gratitude to the European Union, the German government, and GIZ for their effective implementation of regional projects, which contribute to sustainable economic growth and an improved standard of living.
