Over the past five years, funding for Tajikistan's healthcare sector has increased 2.5-fold, according to Tajikistan's Minister of Health and Social Protection, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, at the Global Summit in Samarkand, Avesta.tj reported.
According to the minister, these investments have significantly improved medical infrastructure, enhanced the quality of services, and introduced digital platforms—from electronic birth registration to monitoring childhood vaccinations.
In the current context, increased attention to healthcare and maternal and child health is critical for the entire Central Asian region. Increased budget allocations and digitalization of the sector reflect the Central Asian countries' transition from emergency response to long-term strengthening of human capital.
Amid the integration of regional efforts toward sustainable development, Tajikistan's experience demonstrates the importance of targeted investments in primary healthcare, disease prevention, and social protection. Such initiatives not only improve living standards but also lay a solid foundation for sustainable socioeconomic progress for future generations throughout the region.
