Tajik company "Malika TIB" and Russian "Parus Electro" are planning to collaborate to establish charging stations in Dushanbe.
This was reported by the trade representation of Russia in Tajikistan following a meeting between the trade representative, Evgeny Korenkov, and the head of the Tajik company, Malika Madaliyeva, Sputnik reports.
The planned charging stations are intended for electric buses and electric vehicle owners.
Furthermore, there will be consideration for the creation of a service center for maintaining electric charging equipment, as stated by the Russian trade representation. An agreement to this effect was signed by the parties during an investment forum in Dushanbe.
In turn, Korenkov added that he is ready to support the companies in implementing the project.
In the spring of 2023, Tajikistan's authorities began discussing the expansion of electric vehicle usage in the country.
The press service of the lower house of parliament announced that a law had been drafted in the country to exempt electric vehicles from tax and customs duties when imported into Tajikistan.
Moreover, recently, the Chairman of the upper house of parliament, Rustam Emomali, reached an agreement with colleagues on the joint production of electric vehicles.
