Ankara places great importance on developing relations with Ashgabat in all areas, stated Turkey’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ahmet Demirok, during an event dedicated to Turkey Tourism Week, reports Turkmenportal.tm.

"Our country attaches great importance to deepening cooperation with brotherly Turkmenistan in all spheres. Cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries is also developing dynamically," the diplomat noted.

The ambassador recalled that during the official visit of Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Turkey on October 26, 2023, 13 agreements were signed, including one on cooperation in the field of culture, which came into effect on January 22, 2025.

According to Demirok, Turkmenistan Culture Days are planned to be held in Turkey in 2025, and negotiations on the exact dates and cities of the events are ongoing. Joint participation in theatrical and dance festivals is also expected.

The diplomat highlighted the growing interest of Turkmen citizens in Turkish culture, music, TV series, and films. In this regard, he expressed hope for the opening of a Yunus Emre Cultural Center in Ashgabat - a Turkish cultural institute - which would help expand the cultural program for the people of Turkmenistan.
