Turkmenistan and its partners discussed transit and transport route "Caspian Sea - Black Sea"

The draft intergovernmental agreement on the establishment and implementation of the international transit and transport corridor "Caspian Sea – Black Sea" was discussed at a four-party working meeting attended by representatives of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Romania, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

The meeting was held in a videoconference format, with the participation of senior officials and representatives from the foreign ministries and transport sector agencies of the four countries.

The parties discussed increasing freight transportation and encouraging cooperation with all interested stakeholders, including the European Union.

During the meeting, it was noted that the project's implementation should have a positive impact on trade relations among all participants. The parties emphasized that signing the intergovernmental agreement on the "Caspian Sea – Black Sea" transit and transport route this year would make a significant contribution to the development of international freight transportation between Central Asia and Europe.
