President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree approving a simplified transit regime for freight vehicles between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Avesta reports.
According to the new protocol signed on April 18, 2024, in Dushanbe, freight transport will transit through the territories of both countries without the need for permit forms. The document on changes and additions to the agreement on international road transport, signed on March 9, 2018, was published on Uzbekistan’s national legislation website.
In accordance with the protocol, for the changes to come into force, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs must notify the Tajik side of the completion of domestic procedures.
It was also reported that a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Dushanbe between the state unitary enterprises "Tajikaeronavigation" and "Uzaeronavigation," aimed at expanding cooperation in the fields of aviation and air navigation, exchanging experience, and ensuring the safety of flights through the airspace of both states.
