During the negotiations held in Astana, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, Almasadam Satkaliyev, the Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Usmonali Usmonzoda, and the Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Manuchehr Safarzoda, discussed the prospects of energy cooperation between the two countries.

The parties agreed to analyze the technical parameters and commercial terms of a potential import of electricity from the Rogun Hydropower Plant to Kazakhstan, transiting through Uzbekistan's power system, Satkaliyev stated following the negotiations.

As part of the agreements, the technical capabilities and agreed-upon modes of electricity transit through Uzbekistan's power grids will be studied.

The possibility of concluding agreements with interested organizations from Central Asian countries to regulate unplanned electricity flows between the energy systems of neighboring states will also be considered, the minister added.
