The Tajik minister emphasized during the meeting that the country pays special attention to sustainable economic development, expanding international cooperation, and attracting foreign investments. In this context, ADB is considered one of Tajikistan’s reliable partners.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, ADB has so far invested around $2.6 billion in Tajikistan, with the bank’s ongoing projects in the country amounting to $947 million.

Minister Zavkizoda noted that the construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant remains one of the country's top priorities and urged ADB to join its financing.

In particular, he proposed that the bank approve a sum of $500 million to support the project.

The possibility of ADB’s involvement in developing and financing Tajikistan’s Medium-Term Development Program for 2026-2030 and the Export Development Program for 2026-2030 was also discussed. These initiatives aim to ensure long-term economic stability and strengthen trade relations.

Ko Sakamoto expressed support for Tajikistan’s initiatives and positively assessed the country’s macroeconomic indicators. He noted that the achieved results create favorable conditions for further sustainable development. The parties agreed to continue cooperation and take concrete steps to implement the proposed initiatives.
