The government of Uzbekistan and the Russian company "Gazprom" have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of energy, as announced by Gazprom's press service.
"Gazprom" and the government of Uzbekistan have signed a strategic memorandum of cooperation in the energy sector," the statement reads.
It is noted that the parties intend to develop bilateral cooperation in the supply and transportation of gas, as well as collaborate in the field of geological exploration and hydrocarbon production.
Earlier, representatives of Uzbekistan initiated negotiations with Gazprom regarding medium-term and long-term gas supply contracts.
