TASHKENT - In Uzbekistan, the influence of telephones, the internet, and social media has become one of the most noticeable problems facing modern families. This opinion was shared by 45% of respondents in a sociological survey conducted by the Ijtimoiy Fikr Public Opinion Research Center, Daryo.uz reports.

This factor was more significant than financial difficulties (41.7%), conflicts between spouses (28.3%), and interference from relatives (21.3%).

The study shows that the problem is particularly pronounced among young people. Specifically, 51% of respondents aged 18-24, 46.2% of those aged 25-34, and 46.1% of those aged 35-44 cited digital technology as a key factor influencing family relationships.

At the same time, survey participants also identified the key factors that contribute to maintaining family well-being. They consider mutual respect and trust (48.7%), support in difficult situations (35.2%), open and honest communication (21.5%), and a willingness to compromise (19.4%) to be the most important.

Separately, 18.5% of respondents noted that reducing the excessive influence of phones, the internet, and social media could help prevent divorce.

The study's authors note that the modern institution of the family is simultaneously impacted by digital technologies, economic difficulties, and interpersonal problems.

Previously, the Family and Gender Research Institute conducted a survey of 12,697 respondents across the country. According to its results, the family happiness index was 0.618, corresponding to a "high" level of family well-being.
