The Uzbekipaksanoat Association and Iranian business representatives signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing partnerships in sericulture and expanding trade and economic ties, UzDaily.uz reported.

The negotiations were attended by the leadership of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association and a delegation from Iran, which included representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Qom Handmade Carpet Exporters Association. The Iranian entrepreneurs learned about the potential of Uzbek sericulture and the quality of local products.

The parties discussed in detail the export of Uzbek silk for the production of famous Iranian hand-woven carpets, as well as establishing direct contacts between producers and increasing mutual trade.

The signing of the agreement in the textile and silk sectors reflects the overall strengthening of bilateral relations between Tashkent and Tehran. In recent years, Uzbekistan and Iran have significantly intensified their political and economic dialogue, focusing on trade diversification and the development of transit and logistics corridors.

For Uzbekistan, expanding the supply of high-value-added products to the Iranian market helps strengthen its export potential, while joint cooperation with Iranian carpet manufacturers opens new prospects for industrial growth and integration into the region's production chains.
