The US State Department updated its global Travel Advisory, assigning Kazakhstan the lowest level of travel risk—Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions, Forbes.kz reported.

This status means that only normal precautions are required when visiting the country.

Kazakhstan, along with Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, are in this same basic safety category, as are countries such as Japan, Hungary, Ireland, and Iceland. The only exception in the Central Asian region is Tajikistan, which is assigned Level 2 (Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution), which requires increased caution.

By comparison, popular European destinations such as France, Germany, the UK, Italy, and Spain are also at Level 2. The highest, Level 4 (Level 4: Do Not Travel), where travel is strictly not recommended, is assigned to Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.

The US State Department's designation of a country as a Level 1 tourism security hub is an important international indicator of overall socio-political stability. For Kazakhstan and the Central Asian countries, maintaining a minimal level of risk reduces perceived barriers to investment, business visits, and inbound tourism.

A high rating for law and order and institutional resilience strengthens the region's position as a safe transit, logistics, and humanitarian hub in Eurasia, distinguishing it from neighboring countries located in high-risk zones.
