A meeting between Qobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NAST), and Xu Husheng, Deputy Director General of the Department of Science and Technology of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), China, was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NAST), Avesta.tj reported.
The parties discussed expanding scientific and technical cooperation, implementing joint research projects, and introducing innovations into production. Particular emphasis was placed on joint research in energy, geology, seismology, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
An important outcome of the talks was an agreement to construct and commission a new modern laboratory at the Central Asian Research Center for Ecology and Environment in Dushanbe. This will strengthen the center's facilities and improve the quality of climate change and water resource monitoring.
The dynamic of Tajik-Chinese scientific cooperation reflects the overall high level of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Dushanbe and Beijing. In recent years, bilateral relations have reached a qualitatively new level, stimulated by direct dialogue between the two leaders, Emomali Rahmon and Xi Jinping.
The active involvement of China's border region, Xinjiang, in joint initiatives is transforming scientific contacts into a practical tool for economic development: from monitoring glacier melt to transferring advanced technologies and training young people for Central Asia.
